Cristiano Ronaldo was left furious after two first-half goals were disallowed during Al Nassr’s meeting with Al Kholood in the 12th round of the Roshn Saudi League on Thursday.
The Al Nassr captain appeared to score after 10 minutes when he converted a pass from Abdullah Al-Hamdan inside the penalty area. However, referee Khalid Al-Taris ruled the goal out for an offside offence by Ronaldo, denying the home side an early lead.
Ronaldo strongly protested the decision and was seen shouting at the referee during a heated exchange. The Portugal forward also called for the incident to be reviewed by the video assistant referee, but Al-Taris stood by his original decision.
The controversy continued into first-half injury time, when Ronaldo found the net for a second time. He turned a cross towards goal, only for the effort to be disallowed once again.
This time, the decision was based on an offside offence involving Ayman Yahya at the beginning of the move. As a result, Ronaldo was denied what would have been a first-half brace, with both goals ruled out for offside offences.
The two decisions heightened the tension at the stadium and prompted further complaints from the Al Nassr captain, who had been unable to turn either of his efforts into a countable goal.
The first half ended with the match still unsettled and Ronaldo’s frustration clearly visible. Al Nassr supporters were left waiting to see whether their captain could score a valid goal after the interval and give his side the advantage.
Al Nassr’s next listed fixture is against Pakhtakor in the AFC Champions League Elite on 02 November 2026. The club are then scheduled to face Al Khaleej in the Roshn Saudi League on 05 November 2026.
