Barcelona are increasingly concerned that another international assignment could disrupt Raphinha’s form and fitness, after the Brazil forward suffered an injury during the first international break of the season.
According to Foot Mercato, the 29-year-old made an outstanding start to the campaign after being moved into the centre-forward role. Raphinha scored 14 goals in eight matches in all competitions, performances which helped justify Barcelona’s decision not to sign another striker during the summer transfer window.
Barcelona had attempted to bring in Julian Alvarez, but were unable to complete a deal. Raphinha’s early-season displays subsequently provided the attacking output the club had been seeking.
His form changed sharply after the first international break, when Brazil played Australia twice. Raphinha was injured during the second match and was forced to leave the field at half-time.
The injury kept him out of several Barcelona fixtures, including their second Champions League match. Although he scored in last week’s El Clasico, his performances have otherwise suggested that he is still working to return to his best level.
That situation has increased the club’s anxiety as the next international window approaches. The break is due to begin in 10 days, with Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti expected to select Raphinha for two matches in Singapore against Japan and Singapore.
The proposed trip would mean another lengthy journey for the Barcelona forward, who has frequently returned from international duty carrying an injury. That history has left the Catalan club fearing a repeat of the latest setback just as Raphinha attempts to regain his best form.
The fixture information linked to the report lists Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alaves for 31 October 2026. Brazil’s friendly schedule is dated 14 November 2026 and includes the matches against Japan and Singapore in Singapore.
