Zamalek football director Abdel Nasser Mohamed has confirmed that Ahmed Abdel Rahim ‘Isho’ suffered a minor groin strain and Adi El Dabbah sustained a slight knee bruise during the club’s 2-1 victory over Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
The pair underwent medical examinations during the Egyptian Premier League match, according to Mohamed, who provided the update in an official statement.
“Isho has a minor strain in the adductor muscle, while El Dabbah suffered a slight bruise to the knee,” said the Zamalek football director.
Zamalek secured all three points in their eighth-round fixture after a late goal from Chico Banza completed the comeback.
Mohamed Hamdy put Zamalek ahead at the start of the second half, but Al Mokawloon Al Arab drew level when Mohamed Abdel Nasser’s shot struck Omar Gaber before ending up in the net.
Banza then settled the match in the 88th minute with a decisive goal.
The result ended Zamalek’s difficult recent run against Al Mokawloon Al Arab in the league, giving them their first victory after the two sides had gone without a win in their previous five league matches.
Zamalek moved on to 19 points and are temporarily second in the table. Al Mokawloon Al Arab remain on 11 points in seventh place.
The side’s next Egyptian Premier League fixture will be against El Gouna on 23 November.
