Koulibaly: Inzaghi’s anger inspired Al Hilal’s comeback against Al Qadsiah

Kalidou Koulibaly says Simone Inzaghi’s half-time fury helped Al Hilal secure a 3-2 victory over Al Qadsiah in the Roshn Saudi League on Friday.

The sides were level at 1-1 at the interval in their match from the 11th round, a scoreline which frustrated Al Hilal manager Inzaghi. According to Koulibaly, the Italian believed his team should have scored more before the break.

“Inzaghi was angry with the players at half-time and spoke to us in the dressing room about the need to score in the second half,” Koulibaly told the media.

“He told us that our team could have scored as many goals as possible in the first half, but we did not do that.

“He asked us to impose our control on the game and not lose the ball. That is what happened, and we took the points from the match.”

Al Hilal went on to complete the victory with a 3-2 result, moving them to the top of the Roshn Saudi League standings with 27 points.

They are two points clear of both Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah.
