Ivan Toney moved into the record books as Al-Ahli’s 4-1 win over Al-Khaleej took him to 13 goals in the Roshn Saudi League this season.
The England striker scored twice in the 11th round of the competition, taking sole possession of the league’s scoring lead. He is now six goals clear of his closest challengers, Mateo Retegui of Al-Qadsiah and Youssef En-Nesyri of Al-Ittihad, who have both scored seven times.
Toney’s impact, however, extends beyond the current scoring chart. His latest goals saw him equal the highest tally recorded by an individual player after the opening 11 rounds of a single Roshn Saudi League season.
According to football statistics provider Opta, the Al-Ahli forward’s 13-goal return places him alongside a select group of high-profile strikers who have reached the same mark at this stage of the campaign.
Omar Al Somah achieved the feat twice during his time with Al-Ahli, scoring 13 goals after 11 matches in the 2014-2015 and 2016-2017 seasons. The Syrian became one of the Saudi league’s most prolific forwards during that period, regularly finding the net for the Jeddah club.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix also reached 13 goals after 11 rounds for Al-Nassr during the 2025-2026 season. Toney is now the latest player to join that distinguished list after making a prolific start to his campaign.
His brace against Al-Khaleej helped Al-Ahli secure a convincing victory and strengthened his position at the top of the goalscoring standings. With 13 goals already to his name, Toney has established an early advantage over Retegui and En-Nesyri as he continues his first season among the league’s leading scorers.
