The Football Association has accepted the resignation of Mahmoud Ashour from its Referees Committee.
A source at the Football Association had previously told FilGoal.com that Ashour submitted his resignation as he prepared to leave the committee.
The association’s board met on Monday to discuss several matters involving the national teams and the development of its operations.
The board also approved a new group of referees as part of efforts to support Egyptian refereeing and broaden the association’s pool of officials.
Essam Abdel Fattah is chairman of the Referees Committee, assisted by Gamal El-Ghandour and Samir Osman.
Abdel Fattah took charge of the committee before the start of the season, following the departure of Colombian Oscar Ruiz.
