Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabo Moloisane frustrated by lack of Bafana Bafana call-ups but remains hopeful

Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabo Moloisane has expressed his disappointment over his continued absence from the Bafana Bafana squad, admitting that breaking into South Africa’s national team has become a difficult challenge.

The centre-back believes his performances have put him in contention for international recognition, but acknowledges that the competition for places in the national team is fierce, with the current preferred defenders earning their selections on merit.

Despite his frustration, Moloisane remains optimistic that he will eventually get his opportunity to represent South Africa, insisting that he has not given up on his ambition of earning a Bafana Bafana call-up.

The defender faces a difficult task of forcing his way into the national team, where competition for central defensive positions remains strong. The established options have continued to attract the confidence of the technical team, leaving other players with the responsibility of maintaining consistency at club level to strengthen their claims.

For Moloisane, the challenge is to continue delivering convincing performances for Kaizer Chiefs while waiting for an opportunity to prove himself on the international stage.

His comments come ahead of an emotionally significant encounter against his former club, Stellenbosch FC, who will face Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium tomorrow evening.

The fixture offers Moloisane another opportunity to demonstrate his qualities against familiar opposition as he seeks to maintain his form and strengthen his case for national team consideration.

Although he remains unhappy with the lack of international recognition, the defender’s belief that his chance will eventually arrive reflects his determination to keep pushing for a place in Bafana Bafana.

For now, Moloisane will need to focus on his performances for Kaizer Chiefs, knowing that consistent displays at club level could be key to turning his international ambitions into reality.
