Zakaria El Ouahdi set for swift return to HSV training ahead of Stuttgart clash
Zakaria El Ouahdi could return to Hamburger SV training quickly after recovering from an illness, giving the club a timely boost before Saturday’s home match against VfB Stuttgart.
The right-back missed HSV’s recent trip to Hoffenheim because he was unwell. David Møller Wolfe had to fill in on the right side of defence, despite it not being his usual position.
According to Hamburger Morgenpost, El Ouahdi is expected to resume individual work on Tuesday after Monday’s rest day. If his recovery continues as planned, he could rejoin full team training on Wednesday.
A return to group sessions this week would bring the 24-year-old closer to being available for Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture, which kicks off at 15:30. His presence would ease HSV’s options on the right flank and allow Wolfe to return to a more familiar role.
The club will monitor El Ouahdi’s progress during the week before deciding whether he is ready to face Stuttgart. His quick recovery would be welcome news for HSV, who have recently dealt with several absences in the squad.
No final decision has been made, but the defender’s possible return to training offers cautious optimism ahead of the weekend.
