Wandile Duba has the ‘arrogance’ needed to succeed at Kaizer Chiefs, says Junior Khanye

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has praised the confidence shown by Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba, saying the 22-year-old possesses the attitude required to thrive in attack.

Khanye’s comments focused on Duba’s movement and positioning inside the penalty area, particularly the way he finds space in dangerous areas during matches.

Duba has scored three goals in four Betway Premiership appearances this campaign, helping Kaizer Chiefs climb to third in the league standings.

Speaking on iDiski TV, Khanye said Duba was the best striker currently available to Kaizer Chiefs because of his ability to move effectively in the final third and play with what he described as a valuable arrogance.

“Chiefs were supposed to score so many goals in the first half [against Siwelele]. They were supposed to score more than four goals,” he said on iDiski TV.

“Duba, I think that boy is better than the strikers Chiefs currently have. What I love about him is that he has arrogance.

“And that arrogance you need on the pitch. It’s perfect if a player has arrogance and he uses it on the pitch.

“The fact that he scored with a back heel; also, his character when he plays, he has that thing that I don’t want to lose.

“His positioning is perfect, he has mobility. He can trap and pass. He’s coming from the development, better than other strikers that Chiefs has.”

Khanye’s assessment came after Duba’s recent performances for Kaizer Chiefs, with the striker’s goal return making a significant contribution to the club’s position in the Betway Premiership.

The former player also highlighted Duba’s technical qualities, pointing to his ability to control the ball and link play as further reasons why he rates him above the club’s other strikers.

For Khanye, the forward’s back-heel finish was another example of the character he wants to see preserved in Duba’s game. He said the striker’s confidence, movement and positioning set him apart from the other attacking options at Kaizer Chiefs.
