Egypt Capital Cup: El Masry held to goalless draw by Montakhab El Suez Petrojet

El Masry moved to the top of Group D in the Egypt Capital Cup after being held to a goalless draw by Montakhab El Suez Petrojet.

The sides met in the second round of group matches at Suez Stadium, with neither team able to break the deadlock.

The match was Nabil El Kouki’s first in charge of El Masry since he was appointed as the club’s new head coach. He replaced Ahmed Samy, who left the role after a run of poor results.

The point took El Masry to four points from two matches, leaving them alone at the summit of Group D.

For Montakhab El Suez Petrojet, the draw was their first point of the competition. They remain fourth in the group, level with bottom-placed Abu Qir Fertilizers, who also have one point from two games.

Ceramica Cleopatra are second on three points, while Ghazl El Mahalla sit third with one point from their only match.
