Como stun RB Leipzig 4-1 in impressive Champions League victory

Como made a striking start to their UEFA Champions League campaign by beating RB Leipzig 4-1 in a commanding performance.

The home side controlled 52% of possession and consistently set the pace, while their clinical finishing exposed weaknesses in the German club’s defence.

M. Baturina opened the scoring in the 15th minute, giving Como an early advantage. He then turned provider shortly before half-time, supplying Tasos Douvikas for the second goal in the 38th minute.

Como continued to dominate after the interval and extended their lead nine minutes into the second half. Nico Paz created the opportunity for Assane Diao, who finished in the 54th minute to underline the hosts’ superiority.

RB Leipzig responded four minutes later when Andrija Maksimovic converted an opportunity set up by Christopher Nkunku. However, the goal did little to change the course of the match, with Como remaining firmly in control.

Como added a fourth goal in the 90th minute to settle the contest and complete a convincing victory over Leipzig.

The closing stages became tense, with RB Leipzig receiving three yellow cards, but Como held on to their advantage and secured a prestigious win on the opening matchday.
