A. Lustenau sign Gambia winger Alieu Conateh from Grasshoppers on loan

Gambia winger Alieu Conateh has joined A. Lustenau from Grasshoppers on a season-long loan, completing his move to the Austrian Bundesliga club on 3 September 2026.

The 19-year-old left winger’s loan runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Grasshoppers. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Conateh switches clubs after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 campaign with Grasshoppers in Switzerland. He previously spent time on loan at SKU Amstetten during the 2025-26 season before returning to Grasshoppers at the end of June.

The Gambian joined Grasshoppers from Gambinos Stars on 16 July 2025. His move to A. Lustenau is the latest step in a short professional career that has already included experience in both Swiss and Austrian football.

Conateh is listed as a left winger and favours his right foot. He stands 1.71m tall and holds Gambian nationality.

Before the move, he had been involved in domestic competition during the 2026-27 season, making three appearances in the Swiss Super League and one in the Swiss Cup. He did not score or provide an assist in those matches.

A. Lustenau’s move takes Conateh into the Austrian Bundesliga, while Grasshoppers retain his registration during the loan period. His market value is listed at €250,000.

Conateh’s transfer follows his earlier loan spell at SKU Amstetten, where he gained experience away from Grasshoppers during the previous campaign. That agreement ended on 30 June 2026, allowing him to return to the Swiss club before moving on loan again.

The deal was completed on 3 September, with Conateh now registered as an A. Lustenau player for the 2026-27 season. The Gambian winger has joined the Austrian club from Grasshoppers on loan until 30 June 2027.
