Eintracht Frankfurt begin efforts to bring Arnaud Kalimuendo back from Nottingham Forest

Arnaud Kalimuendo could return to the Bundesliga in January 2027, with Eintracht Frankfurt exploring a move to bring the Nottingham Forest forward back to Germany.

According to L’Equipe, Frankfurt are working on the possibility of signing the 24-year-old during the next winter transfer window. Sporting director Timmo Hardung is reported to have started discussions over a potential return for the France and DR Congo forward.

The two clubs are considering another loan deal, while Kalimuendo is also said to be keen on the move as he looks for more regular first-team football.

Kalimuendo has made only five appearances for Nottingham Forest in all competitions since the start of the season and has struggled to establish himself in the club’s attacking rotation.

His previous spell with Eintracht Frankfurt, during the second half of the 2025/26 season, was considerably more productive. He played 19 games, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

A return to the Bundesliga could therefore offer Kalimuendo the opportunity to revive his career after a difficult period in England. The striker joined Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2025 and remains under contract with the club until 30 June 2030.

His current market value is estimated at 20 million euros. Kalimuendo earns an annual salary of 3 618 734 euros (2 352 177 100 FCFA) at Nottingham Forest.
