Besiktas eye Celta midfielder Ilaix Moriba in Super Lig transfer link
Guinea-Spain midfielder Ilaix Moriba is being linked with a move from Celta de Vigo to Besiktas in Turkey’s Super Lig.
The 23-year-old central midfielder has made three LaLiga appearances for Celta this season, starting two matches and playing 148 minutes in total. He has not scored or provided an assist.
Moriba joined Celta permanently from RB Leipzig on 1 July 2025 for a reported €6m fee, following an earlier loan spell at the Spanish club. His current market value is listed at €15m, while the reported likelihood of a move to Besiktas stands at 44%.
The proposed transfer would see Moriba leave LaLiga for Turkey after establishing himself at Celta, where he has been used in central midfield. Besiktas are the club named in connection with the move, although there is no confirmation that an agreement has been reached.
Moriba came through Barcelona’s academy and won the Spanish Cup with the club during the 2020-21 season before moving to Leipzig in August 2021. He subsequently spent time on loan at Valencia, Getafe and Celta before returning to Vigo on a permanent basis.
His contract with Celta runs until 30 June 2029, meaning the Spanish club remain tied to the midfielder for almost three further seasons.
