Hossam Hassan makes no request to change Egypt coaching staff
A source within the Egyptian Football Association says Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has not asked for any changes to his coaching staff, with the current team expected to remain in place.
The source told FilGoal.com: “Hossam Hassan has not requested any changes to the national team’s technical staff.”
“There is a tendency to retain the same group,” the source added.
Hassan guided Egypt to the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup for the first time in the country’s history. He also led the team to fourth place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The current Egypt coaching set-up consists of Hossam Hassan as head coach, his brother Ibrahim Hassan as team director, Tarek Soliman as assistant coach, Mohamed Abdel Wahed as coach and Saffaan El-Saghir as goalkeeping coach.
Dr Mohamed Abu El Ela heads the national team’s medical department, while Walid Badr is the team’s administrative director.
Egypt are preparing to begin their qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with matches against Angola and South Sudan in September.
They will face Angola at 22:00 local time on 25 September in their opening qualifying fixture at Cairo International Stadium. Four days later, Egypt will play South Sudan in Juba, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 Cairo time.
Egypt have been drawn in Group B alongside Angola, South Sudan and Malawi.
The national team are also exploring the possibility of arranging a friendly match in September against one of Tanzania, Ghana or Rwanda.
