Al Ahly reject Saudi interest in Yasser Ibrahim and move to secure defender’s future

Al Ahly have reportedly rejected an approach from Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab for Egypt international Yasser Ibrahim, insisting that the defender remains a key part of the club’s plans.

According to a source quoted by Saudi newspaper Okaz, Al Shabab contacted the Egyptian champions to explore the possibility of signing the centre-back during the summer transfer window.

The Saudi side are believed to have identified Ibrahim as one of their priority targets as they seek to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season.

Saudi club makes lucrative offer

The report claims that Al Shabab offered the 32-year-old an annual salary of around $1.6 million in an attempt to persuade him to move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Al Ahly reportedly refused to enter negotiations, with club officials unwilling to consider the departure of one of their most experienced defenders.

Ibrahim has established himself as a central figure in Al Ahly’s back line and remains an important member of the Egyptian national team.
