Raja Casablanca claimed their first points of the Botola Pro Inwi season with a 1-0 victory over Renaissance Zemamra at the Mohammed V Complex on Saturday.
The decisive moment came after 27 minutes, when Othman Chribi broke the visitors’ resistance to put Raja ahead.
Renaissance Zemamra had successfully kept Raja Casablanca at bay during the opening stages, but Chribi’s goal gave the home side the lead in the second round of the Moroccan professional league.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser after the interval, but could not find a way past Raja’s defence during the remaining 90 minutes.
The result gives Raja Casablanca their first three points of the campaign. Their opening fixture against AS FAR was postponed, meaning Saturday’s match was their first league appearance of the season.
Renaissance Zemamra remain without a point after suffering a second successive defeat. They lost 2-1 to Morocco Fasi, the defending champions, in the opening round.
The match produced only one goal as Raja Casablanca secured a narrow victory in the fixture at the Mohammed V Complex.
