Wydad Athletic Club bring Yahya Attiyat Allah back for 2026-27 campaign

Wydad Athletic Club have confirmed the return of Morocco international Yahya Attiyat Allah, with the former Al Ahly defender signing a one-year contract ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Casablanca club announced the deal on Sunday as part of its preparations for the new campaign, completing another move in a summer transfer window focused on strengthening the squad with experienced players.

Attiyat Allah, who previously enjoyed an influential spell with Wydad, is expected to reinforce the left-back position. The club believes his technical and physical qualities will improve the team’s competitiveness during the season ahead.

His return also gives Wydad a player who already understands the club’s environment and the demands surrounding its domestic and continental fixtures. The Morocco international’s previous performances for the club, together with his displays for the national team, were central to Wydad’s decision to bring him back.

Wydad said the agreement formed part of the administration’s wider plan to add players with the experience needed to contribute immediately. The club hopes Attiyat Allah’s familiarity with its footballing culture will help him settle quickly and make a significant impact.

Attiyat Allah first left Wydad to pursue an overseas career with Russian club Sochi. He later moved to Egyptian giants Al Ahly, where he began another chapter of his career before deciding to return to the side that had played a major role in his development and rise to prominence.

The move is also consistent with Wydad’s intention to bring back several players who have previously represented the club. During the current transfer window, the club has announced the signings of Yahya Jabrane and Aymen El Hassouni as it works to assemble a squad capable of competing strongly in the coming season.

Attiyat Allah’s experience across different clubs, combined with his knowledge of Wydad, is expected to be an important part of that rebuilding approach. His one-season contract represents the latest step in the club’s preparations for 2026-27, with Wydad aiming to restore a competitive edge by blending returning former players with the rest of the squad.

The signing marks the latest stage of a career that has taken Attiyat Allah from Wydad to Sochi and then Al Ahly before bringing him back to the club where he established himself as one of its leading players.
