Newcastle could offer route to Premier League for Feyenoord winger Hadj-Moussa

Matthias Jaissle is reportedly looking to make an early move for Algeria international Anis Hadj-Moussa as he begins planning for his next club, with Newcastle United emerging as a possible route for the Feyenoord winger to join the Premier League.

Jaissle left Al-Ahli Saudi Arabia only a few days ago after submitting his resignation. The German coach’s departure followed the club’s failure to meet his financial demands over a new contract, bringing their relationship to an end one season before his agreement was due to expire.

Despite his recent exit, Jaissle has already been linked with plans to strengthen his new team during the current summer transfer window. Hadj-Moussa is understood to be one of the players he previously wanted to sign while in charge of Al-Ahli.

According to media figure Mohammed Al-Bakiri, Jaissle is seeking to recruit several players he had asked Al-Ahli to pursue during his time in Saudi Arabia. Those proposed deals were not completed after the club’s executive committee and Portuguese sporting director Pedro rejected them at the time.

Hadj-Moussa is said to be at the top of the list of players Jaissle wants to work with. If negotiations progress successfully in the coming period, the situation could eventually lead to the Algerian winger moving to the Premier League through Newcastle United.

The potential pursuit would give Jaissle another opportunity to implement ideas he was unable to put into practice during his spell at Al-Ahli. His interest in Hadj-Moussa has resurfaced shortly after their time together was discussed in connection with the Saudi club, although the player was not signed during Jaissle’s tenure there.

Hadj-Moussa has established himself as one of the most prominent emerging Algerian talents in Europe. His performances for Feyenoord have attracted attention from more than one club, increasing interest in his future before Jaissle became involved again.

The German coach’s move for the winger therefore reflects both his previous recruitment plans and his desire to build around players he believes can fit his footballing ideas.
