Al Masry sign ES Setif playmaker Khair Eddine Toual
Al Masry have completed the signing of Algerian attacking midfielder Khair Eddine Toual from ES Setif after paying the $240,000 release clause in his contract.
The Egyptian club confirmed the deal on Sunday, 2 August 2026, adding Toual to their squad ahead of the new campaign. FilGoal.com had previously reported that Al Masry would activate the clause to secure the player’s services from the Algerian side.
Toual, who operates as a playmaker, becomes Al Masry’s fifth signing of the transfer window. The club have already brought in Yassin El Mallah from Pharco, Moroccan midfielder Abdellah Zayani from Difaa Hassani El Jadidi, and Mustafa El Ash and Mohamed Shokry from Al Ahly.
The 23-year-old is also the third Algerian player currently at Al Masry, following Abdel Rahim Deghmoum and Monzer Tamin.
Toual began his senior career with USM Alger in 2023. He moved to Etoile Sportive de Ben Aknoun on loan in 2024 before joining Mouloudia El Bayadh on another temporary deal in the summer of the same year.
His next move came in the summer of 2025, when he joined ES Setif. Toual made 32 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
His arrival strengthens the attacking options available to Al Masry as they prepare for the new season. The club finished last term with 40 points and ended the campaign in fifth place in the championship-deciding group.
Al Masry also secured silverware last season by winning the Egypt Capital Cup. They defeated ENPPI 3-0 in the final to claim the trophy.
The signing of Toual continues Al Masry’s recruitment drive and adds further Algerian representation to a squad that already includes Deghmoum and Tamin. The club’s announcement follows the payment of the release clause that allowed the playmaker to leave ES Setif.
