Al Masry pay Khair Eddine Toual release clause as deal nears completion

Al Masry have paid the $240,000 release clause in Khair Eddine Toual’s contract at ES Setif, clearing the way for the Algerian midfielder to become the Egyptian club’s latest signing.

The agreement is not yet official, but Toual is expected to join Al Masry’s training camp within the next few hours as the club continue preparations for the new season under manager Emad El Nahhas.

Toual has completed the financial arrangements of his proposed contract with Al Masry. The remaining steps are the completion of the formal registration and contractual procedures, after which the club are expected to announce the deal.

The payment of the release clause allows Al Masry to proceed with the transfer without requiring a separate agreement with ES Setif. The clause was valued at $240,000, and the Egyptian club have now met that figure.

If completed as expected, Toual will become Al Masry’s fifth new signing of the summer. The club have already brought in Yassin El Mallah from Pharco, Algeria international Abdallah El Zayani from Difaa Hassani El Jadidi, and Mostafa El Esh and Mohamed Shokry from Al Ahly.

Toual began his senior career with USM Alger in 2023. He moved to Najm Ben Aknoun on loan in 2024 before joining Mouloudia El Bayadh on another temporary deal in the summer of that year.

In the summer of 2025, Toual moved to ES Setif, where he has since made 32 appearances. He scored three goals and provided four assists during that spell.

His arrival would add another Algerian player to Al Masry’s squad, following the club’s move for Abdallah El Zayani. The club are continuing their preparations for the new campaign while working to finalise the administrative details of Toual’s transfer.

Al Masry are expected to confirm the signing once those procedures have been completed. Until then, the player’s move remains subject to the final announcement, despite the release clause having been paid and the financial terms between Toual and the club having been agreed.

Friday’s development represents the latest step in Al Masry’s recruitment plans under El Nahhas, with the club seeking to strengthen their squad before the start of the new season.
