Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister has no contract concerns, says father

Alexis Mac Allister’s father and agent has dismissed reports of a dispute over the Liverpool midfielder’s contract, while also denying that Real Madrid have made contact about a possible transfer.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window of 2026, despite his current Liverpool deal running until 2028.

Mac Allister, 27, joined Liverpool from Brighton in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth 42m euros.

Reports had suggested there was an issue within Liverpool over the possibility of extending the player’s contract in the coming period. However, his father, Carlos Mac Allister, said there was no disagreement surrounding the situation.

Speaking exclusively to 365Scores, Carlos confirmed that there are currently no negotiations with Liverpool over a new deal for his son.

He said the existing contract, which expires in 2028, remains valid and that both parties are committed to its terms. He added that Mac Allister’s focus is on producing his best performances for the team.

Carlos also rejected suggestions that his son was unhappy because Liverpool had renewed the contracts of some of his team-mates without addressing his own future.

He said the family respected the decisions made by Liverpool’s management and was concentrating on the future rather than seeking an immediate change to the midfielder’s position.

The comments also addressed speculation about interest from Real Madrid. Carlos said the Spanish club had not contacted Mac Allister at any stage of his career.
