Bournemouth begin Europa League campaign with 2-1 win at Real Sociedad

AFC Bournemouth made a winning start to their Europa League campaign by beating Real Sociedad 2-1 away from home.

The visitors took control early, scoring twice inside the opening 20 minutes. Justin Kluivert opened the scoring in the 11th minute after being set up by A. Truffert.

Bournemouth doubled their advantage nine minutes later, with Rayan finishing from Alex Scott’s assist.

Real Sociedad had more possession during the opening stages, controlling 60% of the ball, but the English side were more clinical in attack and took a commanding lead into the second half.

The Spanish team pulled a goal back in the 57th minute when Sergio Gomez converted after being supplied by Luken Beitia.

That response was not enough to deny Bournemouth a notable away victory, giving them an ideal start to their European campaign.
