MBC has secured the exclusive Middle East rights to broadcast the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, ensuring every match will be shown live and free to viewers on its open Arabic-language channels.
The tournament will feature Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid, with the competition scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey, rather than Saudi Arabia, which hosted the event in recent seasons.
MBC confirmed that it will provide live coverage of all the matches for Arab audiences. The agreement ends the previous reliance on encrypted channels for access to the competition in the region.
The Spanish Super Cup will be played under an agreement signed by Sela and the Royal Spanish Football Federation to organise the 2027 edition in Istanbul. The tournament is being staged with the backing of Riyadh Season.
The four participating clubs qualified through their domestic achievements. Barcelona will enter as La Liga champions, while Real Madrid will take part as runners-up. Real Sociedad qualified as Copa del Rey winners, with Atletico Madrid included as Copa del Rey runners-up.
The Spanish Football Federation has confirmed the schedule for the four-team competition. Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the first semi-final on 2 February, while Real Madrid will meet Real Sociedad in the second semi-final on 3 February.
The final is scheduled for 6 February, completing a tournament which will be played between 2 and 6 February.
MBC said its coverage would include studios and interviews from the stadium, alongside analysis of the matches. The broadcaster described the deal as exclusive rights for the Middle East to show and air the Spanish Super Cup, under the sponsorship of Riyadh Season.
The 2027 competition represents a change of host country after several recent editions were held in Saudi Arabia. This time, all four matches will be staged in Istanbul.
The event brings together two of Spain’s biggest clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid, alongside Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad in the expanded four-team format.
