Juan Bezerra agent dispute stalls contact with Zamalek ahead of pre-season
A financial dispute involving the agent of Brazilian forward Juan Bezerra has led to a breakdown in communication between the player and Zamalek in the build-up to the club’s pre-season preparations for the new campaign.
FilGoal.com has learned that Bezerra has not responded to Zamalek officials for around a week amid a row over unpaid commission claimed by his representative.
The issue arose after Zamalek completed all agreed payments to the player and his former club, while Bezerra’s agent has demanded his financial share for brokering the transfer.
Zamalek move to settle row
Zamalek have opened talks with Bezerra’s agent in an attempt to resolve the outstanding commission and bring the dispute to an end, with the club keen to close the matter fully.
At the same time, the board has formally notified Bezerra of the start date for pre-season, instructing him to report for training with the rest of the squad ahead of the new season.
The stand-off comes despite Zamalek moving into the final stages of planning for their 2026-27 campaign.
Bezerra’s impact last season
Since joining Zamalek, Bezerra has made 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists.
The Brazilian helped the Cairo club win the Egyptian Premier League title last season, contributing two goals and three assists in the league campaign.
Pre-season schedule confirmed
Zamalek have announced that the first-team training camp will get under way on Friday, 31 July, as preparations intensify for the 2026-27 season.
Head coach Moatamed Gamal has informed the squad of the schedule for medical examinations, which will take place on Thursday and Saturday to complete all fitness and health checks before full training begins.
The club said the programme is part of the coaching staff’s planning to ensure players are medically and physically ready before the start of pre-season training for the upcoming campaign.
