Kingsley Ehizibue: Dutch-Nigerian free agent linked with Udinese return

Kingsley Ehizibue, the Dutch-Nigerian right-back currently without a club, is being linked with a move back to Serie A side Udinese. The 31-year-old defender left the Friulani at the start of July and is now a free agent, opening the door to a potential reunion.

Ehizibue’s situation offers Udinese the opportunity to reinforce at right-back without paying a transfer fee, with his current market value standing at around €2m. Talks are understood to be at an early stage, but the prospect of bringing back a player already familiar with the club and league is thought to appeal as Udinese weigh up defensive options for the new campaign.

The Munich-born full-back has extensive top-flight experience across Europe, including 115 Serie A appearances, as well as spells in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie. He first joined Udinese from 1. FC Koln in August 2022 in a deal worth €1.5m after establishing himself in Germany and earlier with PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands.

During his time in Italy, Ehizibue built up a solid body of work in Serie A, adding to over a hundred Eredivisie outings earlier in his career. Primarily a right-back and strongly right-footed, he offers a profile Udinese know well from his previous stint in Udine.

Having officially left Udinese on 1 July, Ehizibue is free to negotiate and sign immediately, and any return would come without the need for a transfer fee. For now, he remains unattached as his representatives assess interest, with a second spell at Udinese among the options under consideration.
