Gary Neville calls Manchester United’s display against Fulham the worst 15 minutes he has seen

Gary Neville described Manchester United’s performance against Fulham as the worst 15-minute spell he had witnessed in 46 years of watching the club.

Manchester United continued their poor start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage. Lisandro Martinez scored a comical own goal before Matheus Cunha’s late deflected effort rescued a point for the visitors.

Neville was particularly critical of United’s lack of intensity and effort, saying the team’s performance had reached a level he had never previously seen from the club.

“I have watched Manchester United since I was five years old, and those were the worst 15 minutes I have ever seen in my life,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“It was absolutely pathetic. I have never seen that level of laziness before. What is going on in Carrick’s mind?”

Neville also questioned the players’ movement during the match, saying, according to Metro: “I find it incredibly difficult to walk around. You should never walk around on a football pitch. It is strange.”

He added: “For a few minutes, it is blue mannequins against white mannequins, and then it changes. It is a strange football match.”

Concluding his criticism, Neville said: “Neither side will make progress with this level of laziness. Just look at them – they are walking.”
