Abdelfattah Sheta: Egyptian defender joins El Mahalla from Kahraba on long-term deal

El Mahalla have signed Egyptian centre-back Abdelfattah Sheta from Kahraba, with the 24-year-old agreeing a contract until 30 June 2029. The right-footed defender arrives with a current market value of 150,000 and strengthens the Premier League clubs options at the heart of their back line ahead of the new campaign.

Born in Tanta on 7 July 2002, Sheta has been building his reputation in Egyptian football across the top flight and domestic cups. Last season he featured regularly in the Premier League, making 25 appearances and providing two assists, underlining his ability to contribute both defensively and in build-up play. He also gained valuable experience in high-pressure situations, playing 12 times in relegation play-offs and adding further minutes in the Egyptian League Cup and Egypt Cup, where he scored once in seven League Cup outings.

Sheta joined Kahraba in July 2025 after a spell at Proxy FC, whom he had first linked up with in January 2025 having been without a club following his departure from El Gouna. His rise included a step up from youth football at El Gounas U23 side, where he moved in 2021, to the senior team a year later.

The move to El Mahalla marks the latest stage in Shetas progression in the Egyptian Premier League, with the defender now tied to the club for the next three seasons.
