King’s Lynn bring in West Brom defender Jamal Mohammed on short-term loan

English-Ghanaian centre-back Jamal Mohammed has joined King’s Lynn from West Bromwich Albion’s Under-21 side on loan, adding a 20-year-old defender to the National League North club’s squad.

The move was completed on 19 September and is scheduled to run until 17 October. Mohammed has switched from Premier League 2 football with West Brom Under-21 to King’s Lynn’s National League North campaign.

The London-born defender stands at 1.96m and is right-footed. He has also represented England and Ghana through his nationality, although no senior international appearances are recorded.

Mohammed came through West Brom’s youth system before moving into the club’s Under-18 side in July 2022. He stepped up to the Under-21 squad two years later, joining on 1 July 2024.

His latest move follows a previous loan spell with Gloucester during the 2025-26 season. Mohammed joined Gloucester from West Brom Under-21 in January 2026 and returned to his parent club at the end of that temporary spell in April.

He had made appearances for West Brom Under-21 in the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season before moving to King’s Lynn. His record included two Premier League 2 appearances, with 32 minutes played, and two National League Cup appearances, totalling 73 minutes.

Mohammed’s two National League Cup appearances came with him starting once, while he featured twice in Premier League 2 without starting. He had not scored or registered an assist in either competition before completing the move.

The defender will wear number 26 at King’s Lynn. His arrival takes him into senior non-league football after his recent experience with West Brom’s development side and his loan period at Gloucester.

King’s Lynn have secured Mohammed’s services on a loan transfer from West Brom Under-21, with the agreement running through 17 October 2026.
