Papa Abidine Sidibe: Senegal defender joins Hutteen SC on free transfer

Senegalese centre-back Papa Abidine Sidibe has joined Hutteen SC from Sagesse SC on a free transfer, giving the Syrian club a new defensive addition for the 2026-27 season.

Sidibe, 27, made the move on 20 September 2026 after four years with Sagesse, where he established himself in the Lebanese Premier League. He made 72 appearances in the competition, playing 6,213 minutes.

The right-footed defender began his senior career with Jamono Fatick before moving to AJEL Rufisque in July 2020. He had initially joined Jamono Fatick from AJEL Rufisque’s under-20 side in 2018, and returned to the club after that first senior spell.

Sidibe then left AJEL Rufisque for Sagesse on 1 July 2022, beginning a four-year stay at the Lebanese club. His departure brings an end to his time in the Lebanese Premier League and marks a move to Hutteen, where he will continue his career in Syria.

Standing at 1.90m, Sidibe offers Hutteen experience in central defence after several seasons of regular football in Lebanon. His 72 league appearances for Sagesse represent the most substantial spell of his career to date, following his development through clubs in Senegal.

The transfer was completed without a fee. Sidibe’s contract with Hutteen SC runs until 30 June 2027.
