Al Ahly linked with move for El Masry’s Algerian playmaker Abderrahim Deghmoum
Algerian attacking midfielder Abderrahim Deghmoum of El Masry is being linked with a switch to Egyptian Premier League rivals Al Ahly, with the 27-year-old’s contractual situation adding intrigue to the rumour.
Reports on 2 July 2026 placed Deghmoum, valued at €1.20m on Transfermarkt, on Al Ahly’s radar, although the probability of any deal remains unclear and is currently listed as “?”. With no public information on when his El Masry contract expires, the prospect of him running down his deal and eventually becoming a free agent cannot be ruled out, heightening interest around his future.
Deghmoum, who wears the No 30 shirt for El Masry, has built a reputation in the Egyptian Premier League as a left-footed attacking midfielder capable of operating across the advanced midfield line. Standing at 1.78m and born in Beni Aziz on 2 December 1998, he has become one of the more established Algerian exports in North African club football.
The latest links to Al Ahly come after another solid campaign in Port Said colours, where he has regularly featured in the top flight. Detailed seasonal statistics and exact appearance figures were not disclosed in the latest data, but his performances have been strong enough to sustain a seven‑figure market valuation and attract attention from one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
There are, however, no indications yet of an official bid or advanced negotiations between El Masry and Al Ahly, and no formal confirmation that Deghmoum’s deal has entered its final year. For now, the speculation remains at an early stage.
If a move to Al Ahly does materialise, it would represent a significant step in Deghmoum’s career, potentially elevating his profile in continental competition and offering a new platform to enhance his reputation in African football.
