World Cup 2026: Jude Bellingham admits frustration after England’s draw with Ghana
England midfielder Jude Bellingham has described the 1-1 draw against Ghana as a frustrating result after the Three Lions were held in their second Group L match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite dominating possession for large periods of the contest, England were unable to break down a well-organised Ghana side that battled to secure a valuable point.
England’s dominance falls short
The match, played on Tuesday night, saw England control much of the game but struggle to convert their superiority into clear-cut goals.
Ghana’s defensive structure and discipline proved difficult to break down, forcing England into a share of the spoils at full-time.
Bellingham reacts after the final whistle
Speaking after the match, Bellingham admitted his disappointment with the outcome but praised Ghana for their defensive effort.
“Very frustrating. It feels like I think in all the tournaments I’ve been to, it’s been the same, you know, decent performance to start and a good win. And then just the second one frustrated a little bit with how they defended, how they set up, you know, credit to them,” the England midfielder said.
Group L wide open after draw
Following the result, both England and Ghana remain level at the top of Group L with four points each heading into their final group-stage matches.
England will face Panama, while Ghana prepare for a decisive clash against Croatia as the battle for qualification continues.
