Zamalek will begin their CAF Champions League campaign against APR of Rwanda in the first leg of their round-of-32 tie on 17 October.
The match will be played at Kigali Amahoro Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00. It will be broadcast on beIN Sports.
Zamalek’s meeting with the Rwandan side comes after a 2-0 defeat by Egyptian Premier League rivals Al Ahly at Cairo Stadium in the sixth round of the league.
The result was Al Ahly’s 53rd victory over Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League, compared with 29 wins for Zamalek and 51 draws.
Zamalek manager Moataz Gamal has yet to beat Al Ahly in two derby matches in charge. His side lost 3-0 last season before suffering a 2-0 defeat in the current campaign.
Hussein Ammouta, meanwhile, passed his first derby test by leading Al Ahly to victory over Zamalek.
The win moved Al Ahly temporarily top of the league with 16 points. Zamalek suffered their first defeat of the season but remain third with 13 points.
