Heracles Almelo are being linked with a move for attacking midfielder Walid Ould-Chikh from Eintracht Braunschweig, with the Dutch-Moroccan’s future uncertain amid the prospect of a free transfer.

The 26-year-old, currently listed at Heracles but rumoured to be on the move from 2. Bundesliga side Braunschweig back to Almelo, is at the centre of fresh speculation dated 4 May 2026. Transfermarkt lists the probability of the deal only as “?”, while his contract situation is unclear, raising the possibility he could become a free agent if no agreement is reached.

Ould-Chikh, valued at €650,000, is viewed as a relatively low-cost option for Eredivisie sides seeking creativity between the lines. Standing at 1.86m and predominantly right-footed, he operates mainly as an attacking midfielder but can also fit into advanced roles across the middle third.

Born in Roosendaal on 6 November 1999, Ould-Chikh holds both Dutch and Moroccan nationality. That dual background has made him an intriguing figure on the scouting circuit, with clubs in both Germany and the Netherlands tracking his development as he has alternated between the Eredivisie and 2. Bundesliga environments.

The latest data lists Heracles Almelo as his current club with shirt number 73, yet the rumour ties him specifically to a move “from E. Braunschweig to Heracles Almelo”, underlining the ambiguity around his registration and potential availability. No contract expiry date is registered, which further fuels talk that he could negotiate as a free agent if any existing deal has lapsed or is close to doing so.

With his market value stable at mid-tier Eredivisie level and his profile suiting a possession-based side, a successful switch to Heracles could offer Ould-Chikh the platform to solidify his reputation in the Dutch top flight and shape the next decisive phase of his career.
