My family prefers a move to Saudi Arabia – Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo

Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has disclosed that his family is pushing for him to join a Saudi Pro League club despite receiving interest from teams across Europe.

Sibo is currently weighing his options after becoming a free agent following the end of his contract with Spanish La Liga side Real Oviedo.

The midfielder played a key role for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, forming a strong partnership with Thomas Partey in the middle of the pitch as the Black Stars reached the Round of 32 before losing to Colombia.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Lawson TV, Sibo revealed that he has received offers from clubs in England, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, but his family has a clear preference for a move to the Gulf nation.

“So far I have had offers from England, Germany, and Saudi Arabia as well. My family wants me to go to Saudi; they don’t want to hear about the other countries. One of my relatives is very keen about it,” Sibo said.

The 28-year-old explained that some members of his family are actively encouraging him to consider the Saudi Pro League, which has attracted several high-profile players in recent years.

Sibo’s next destination remains undecided, with reports linking him with English Championship side Hull City, Greek giants PAOK, Saudi club Al Qadsiah, and other potential suitors.
