Ticket dispute overshadows RS Berkane vs AS FAR semi-final clash
Tension is building ahead of the highly anticipated showdown between RS Berkane and AS FAR, with off-field issues threatening to dominate the narrative before a ball is even kicked.
The two sides are set to meet next Saturday at the Berkane Municipal Stadium in the second leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final, a fixture widely regarded as one of the biggest matches of the season.
However, a dispute over ticket allocation has sparked controversy in the lead-up to the encounter.
According to reports from Al-Sabah, Berkane’s management has allocated just five per cent of the stadium’s capacity to visiting supporters.
With the venue holding around 10,000 spectators, this translates to approximately 500 tickets for AS FAR fans, a figure that has not gone down well with the visiting camp.
Supporters of the Rabat-based club have expressed frustration over the limited allocation, describing it as insufficient for a match of such magnitude. The situation is further complicated by reports that large numbers of AS FAR fans are still expected to travel to Berkane, even without official tickets.
On the pitch, the task facing the home side is equally demanding. RS Berkane head into the second leg needing to overturn a 2-0 deficit suffered in Rabat, adding further intensity to an already charged atmosphere.
With both sporting stakes and fan tensions running high, the stage is set for a dramatic and potentially volatile night in Berkane.
