Senegalese defender Mor Talla Ndiaye nears Liverpool U21 debut after rehabilitation

Liverpool FC prospect Mor Talla Ndiaye is closing in on his first appearances for the club’s reserve side after returning to full training following a medical issue that delayed his introduction earlier this year.

The Senegalese central defender joined Liverpool during the winter transfer window from Amitié FC, but his early weeks at the club were affected by a minor problem detected during his medical examination in January.

As a precaution, the club’s medical staff recommended a period of rehabilitation before he could take part fully in team activities.

Ndiaye has now resumed daily training with the club’s under-21 side, which competes in Premier League 2.

The development marks an important step in the player’s integration as Liverpool’s young squad continues its campaign.

The team is managed by Rob Page, who provided an update on Ndiaye’s situation during an interview with the media outlet This Is Anfield.

The coach confirmed that the defender has returned to regular sessions with the squad and is steadily working towards full match fitness.

“We have Mor back with us. Mor is training with us every day now, so we will gradually improve his fitness and, if all goes well, we hope to see him on the pitch in the coming weeks,” Rob Page explained.

His return to training follows a cautious approach from the club, which opted to carefully manage the player’s recovery before allowing him to join the group.

Liverpool had initially signed Ndiaye on a long-term deal running until 2030, underlining their belief in his potential.

The period of rehabilitation meant his first steps with the team were delayed, but the club now appears confident that the defender is nearing full readiness.

His integration comes at a time when Liverpool’s under-21 side is enjoying a strong run of form in the closing phase of the season.

The young Reds recently secured an emphatic 5-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers’ youth team, a result that highlights the team’s positive momentum heading into the final stage of the regular campaign.

With two league matches remaining before the start of the playoffs in Premier League 2, Ndiaye’s return to daily training could offer an additional option for the coaching staff as they prepare for the decisive weeks ahead.

For the Senegalese defender, the coming weeks may provide his first opportunity to step onto the pitch in Liverpool colours, bringing an end to the delayed start to his journey at the Merseyside club.
