Super Falcons winger Omorinsola Babajide has described Nigeria’s recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations victory as the crowning achievement of her professional career so far.

The 27-year-old Super Falcons star, who plays for AS Roma Women, was a key part of the squad that lifted the continental title under the guidance of head coach Justin Madugu.

The tournament, widely referred to as “Mission X,” ended in dramatic fashion, with Nigeria staging a stunning comeback from two goals down to defeat the Morocco women’s national football team in the final.

Speaking to 49th Street, Babajide reflected on the emotional magnitude of winning her first major tournament with the Super Falcons.

“I’m Nigerian. As big an achievement as it was and with how successful Mission X was, it’s been the pinnacle of my career to date. The proudest moment of my career so far would definitely be lifting the WAFCON trophy in my first-ever mainstream tournament. That has to be the greatest,” she said.

Babajide’s performance throughout the tournament underscored her growing influence in the team. Known for her composure, technical ability, and attacking threat, she played a vital role in Nigeria’s journey to continental glory.

For the Super Falcons, the triumph represents more than just silverware — it signals the continuation of Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football and highlights the emergence of a new generation of players ready to carry the mantle forward.

For Babajide personally, “Mission X” will forever remain a defining chapter, cementing her status as one of the brightest talents in Nigerian football and a player capable of producing magic on the continental stage.
