Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek denies salary arrears of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray S.K. president Dursun Özbek has emphatically dismissed claims that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and his teammates are owed unpaid salaries.

Earlier reports suggested Osimhen had not received wages for close to three months, fueling speculation of possible unrest within the dressing room. The claims quickly gained traction, raising questions about the club’s financial stability and internal harmony.

However, Özbek has moved swiftly to shut down the narrative, branding the reports as fabricated and irresponsible. The 76-year-old insisted that Galatasaray have fulfilled every financial commitment to their players, including bonuses and performance-related incentives.

“If you make things up, you create crises like this,” Özbek stated firmly. “Galatasaray is an elite team made up of world-class footballers. You cannot make these players perform with just words. If players go two or three months without salaries, they simply would not play.”

He went further, describing the allegations as disrespectful to the professionalism of the squad.

“These kinds of reports are an insult to our players. There are bonus and incentive clauses in their contracts, and we pay them all on time. Galatasaray has not defaulted on a single lira — not a single lira is overdue.”

The strong rebuttal is aimed at restoring calm and protecting the club’s image as they continue their domestic and European campaigns. With Osimhen playing a pivotal role in the team’s ambitions this season, Özbek’s statement seeks to put an end to speculation and reaffirm stability within the Turkish giants.

For Galatasaray, the message is clear: there is no financial crisis, no unpaid wages, and no dressing-room turmoil — only a team focused on success.
