Cabinet approves sweeping overhaul of UK migration rules

Paris St-Germain are being linked with a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen in a deal that could hinge on the Nigeria forward’s contract situation and potential free‑agent status.

The 27-year-old centre-forward, valued at €75.00m on Transfermarkt, is the subject of fresh speculation over a switch from the Turkish Süper Lig champions to the Ligue 1 leaders, with the reported probability of any move currently listed as unknown (marked “?”). No contract end date is recorded for Osimhen at Galatasaray, raising the prospect that his deal in Istanbul may be running down and that a future move as a free agent cannot be ruled out.

Osimhen rejoined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli on 31 July 2025, following a loan spell at the Turkish club during the 2024-25 season and a brief return to the Serie A side at the end of that campaign. He has become a central figure for the Istanbul giants, wearing the number 45 shirt and operating in his preferred role through the middle.

The Lagos-born striker, who stands at 1.86m and plays predominantly with his right foot, has already built a substantial career across Europe’s major leagues. After leaving Nigerian side Ultimate Strikers Academy for VfL Wolfsburg in 2017, he moved on to Royal Charleroi SC, where his rising form in Belgium sharply increased his market value. A transfer to Lille followed in 2019, before a big-money switch to Napoli in 2020, where his valuation peaked at €120m in June 2023 after firing the Italians to major domestic success.

Now at Galatasaray, Osimhen’s current market value of €75.00m reflects his status as one of the most highly regarded strikers outside Europe’s traditional top five clubs, and any approach from PSG would likely have to take that figure into account, even if the eventual fee proves lower due to contract length or free‑agent leverage.

Recent performances have ensured the speculation remains live. In Galatasaray’s most recent high-profile Süper Lig outing before this rumour surfaced, Osimhen led the line against title rivals Fenerbahçe in Istanbul, contributing a typically hard-running display as his side fought to a tight result that maintained their position in the championship race. His form in such fixtures, built on pace in behind and aggressive pressing, continues to attract attention from clubs accustomed to competing deep into the Champions League.

Osimhen’s market value history underlines how consistently he has convinced recruiters at each step of his career, climbing from €1m at Wolfsburg in early 2017 to the €75.00m mark now recorded at Galatasaray. Spells in the Bundesliga, Belgian Pro League, Ligue 1, Serie A and now the Süper Lig mean a move to PSG would represent a return to France, where he previously impressed with Lille.

For PSG, a deal would add a proven centre-forward in his peak years to an already star-studded attack. For Osimhen, any eventual transfer – whether via a major fee or after a contract expiry as a free agent – could become a defining step, shaping not only the next phase of his club career but also his wider reputation as one of Africa’s leading modern strikers.
