French club Lille join race to sign Abdourahmane Mbodji of Senegal
Lille are reported to be monitoring Senegalese centre-forward Abdourahmane Mbodji as the Génération Foot teenager emerges as the latest Ligue 1 prospect linked with a move to France.

The 17-year-old, who plays as a centre-forward for AS Académie Génération Foot, is the subject of transfer speculation suggesting a possible switch from the Senegalese Ligue 1 club to Lille, with the probability of any deal currently listed as unclear (“?”). His current market value is estimated at €300,000, a relatively modest figure that could make him an attractive development signing for the French side.

Born on 22 April 2008 in Richard-Toll, Mbodji stands at 1.77m and is right-footed. He has come through the Génération Foot system, progressing from the U17 side to the U20s in July 2024 before stepping up to the senior AS Académie Génération Foot set-up in July 2025. All of his club football so far has been played in Senegal’s top flight structure.

There is no recorded contract expiry date in the available data, leaving open the possibility that Mbodji could become a free agent or be available on favourable terms should Génération Foot choose to cash in. His current registration is with AS Académie Génération Foot, who compete in Senegal’s Ligue 1.

Mbodji is listed with Senegalese nationality and represents AS Académie Génération Foot at national-team level. His most recent market valuation, confirmed on 27 February 2026, reflects his status as a developing talent rather than an established star, but Lille’s reported interest underlines how closely European clubs are tracking emerging prospects in West Africa.

If a move to Lille does materialise, it would mark a significant early step in Mbodji’s career and could provide a platform to accelerate his development and raise his profile on the European stage.
