Morocco forward Ayoub El Kaabi leads goal king race in Greek top-flight after brace heroics for Olympiacos
Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi was the hero as Olympiacos secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Panserraikos in the 23rd round of the Greek Super League.
El Kaabi made his impact felt in the second half, opening the scoring in the 60th minute before doubling the lead just ten minutes later, completing a crucial brace. Panserraikos managed to pull one back, but Olympiacos held firm to claim all three points.
The win strengthens Olympiacos’ grip on the top of the table, moving them to 53 points—just one ahead of second-placed AEK Athens.
El Kaabi’s brace also extended his personal tally to 15 goals in 19 appearances for the season, putting him at the summit of the league’s scoring charts, surpassing AEK’s Serbian striker Luka Jovic, who has 13 goals.
Across competition, the enterprising attacker has made 31 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing two assists for the club.
The 32-year-old forward’s consistency continues to underline his status as one of the standout performers in Greek football this season.
