Mohammed Noor tips Al-Ittihad for an unlikely Saudi Super Cup triumph

Saudi football legend Mohammed Noor has predicted that Al-Ittihad will win the Saudi Super Cup, despite the club not being involved in the competition.

The 2026 Saudi Super Cup will be held in Kuwait from 19 to 23 December, with Al-Nassr, Al-Kholood, Al-Ahli and Al-Qadsiah competing for the trophy.

Noor made his prediction in a video shared by the Nadina programme on X. He was asked to name the expected winners of the major trophies in Saudi football during the current season.

The former Saudi Arabia international backed Al-Ittihad to win every competition in which they are participating: the Roshn Saudi League, the King’s Cup and the AFC Champions League Elite.

However, his prediction for the Saudi Super Cup caused surprise because Al-Ittihad are not among the four teams taking part.

Noor’s forecast would give Al-Ittihad four trophies this season, although the Jeddah club have made a difficult start to the campaign.

Al-Ittihad are fourth in the Roshn Saudi League with 20 points. They are five points behind leaders Al-Qadsiah, who have played one more match.

The team are also struggling in the west group of the AFC Champions League Elite. Al-Ittihad sit 11th with one point from two matches, having drawn once and lost once without recording a victory.

The video, posted by Nadina’s account on 22 October 2026, was accompanied by a graphic summarising Noor’s prediction: Al-Ittihad as winners of all four trophies.

Noor is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in Saudi football and spent much of his career with Al-Ittihad. His forecast for the Saudi Super Cup therefore differs from the tournament’s confirmed line-up, which includes four other clubs.
