Callum Hudson-Odoi hails Vitor Pereira’s fresh attacking approach at Nottingham Forest
Callum Hudson-Odoi says new Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira is challenging the squad to embrace a more expressive, front-foot style as they battle to move away from the Premier League relegation zone.
Speaking after a 3-0 Europa League win over Fenerbahce, the winger explained that the Portuguese coach has arrived with a clear plan and strong ideas for how he wants Forest to play.
“He wants us to play good football. Everybody is already taking in his ideas and understands what he wants.” Hudson-Odoi noted that attacking players now have greater freedom to create and combine in the final third, marking a shift from the more rigid, safety-first structure under former boss Sean Dyche. That change has quickly brought a lift in mood around the City Ground, where belief had been tested by a turbulent season and a rapid turnover of managers.
Since Pereira’s appointment on Sunday, Forest have adopted a higher defensive line and leaned more on wide threats like Hudson-Odoi and Omari Hutchinson, signalling a bolder identity on the ball.
Early signs point to a more enjoyable and proactive brand of football as Forest try to climb the table while building confidence in their new manager’s philosophy.
