Gaoussou Diarra has resumed training with Feyenoord after nearly two months on the sidelines following an injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Malian international is edging closer to a return to action, offering encouragement to the Dutch club at a crucial stage of the season.
Images shared on his social media account on 11 February showed the attacking midfielder back on the training ground with the ball at his feet, signalling progress in his recovery.
Diarra, 23, suffered a sprained right ankle during a training session with Mali’s national team on 31 December 2025.
The injury ruled him out of the latter stages of the Africa Cup of Nations, including the round of 16 and quarter-finals, dealing a blow to both player and country during the tournament.
His absence has also been felt at club level.
Feyenoord have been working to maintain pressure at the top of the Eredivisie table but have found themselves chasing leaders PSV Eindhoven in recent weeks.
The prospect of Diarra’s return could provide a timely lift as the campaign intensifies.
Although no official date has been confirmed for his comeback, his return to training represents a significant step forward.

The midfielder’s presence adds depth and attacking options, qualities that could prove valuable as Feyenoord seek to close the gap at the summit.
After a frustrating spell on the sidelines, Diarra now appears to be entering the final phase of his rehabilitation.
With the season entering a decisive period, Feyenoord will hope his return to full fitness arrives sooner rather than later.
