Kennedy Boateng is being linked with a move from Romanian side FC Dinamo to Chinese Super League club SD Taishan, according to transfer data compiled on 9 February 2026.
The 29-year-old centre-back, who represents Togo and also holds Ghanaian nationality, is listed with a market value of €1.20m, a figure that is expected to frame any negotiations between the SuperLiga outfit and the Chinese club. The reported probability of the deal remains unspecified, underlining that discussions are at a speculative stage rather than an advanced one.
Boateng is currently on the books of FC Dinamo 1948, having joined the Bucharest club ahead of the 2024–25 season. His value has risen steadily during his time in Romania, climbing from €650,000 in September 2024 to €1m in June 2025 and then €1.20m by December 2025, reflecting his growing importance in Dinamo’s back line. There is no publicly listed contract expiry date, leaving open the possibility that Dinamo could seek either a transfer fee now or risk the defender moving on as a free agent at a later stage.
Born in Tamale on 29 November 1996 and standing at 1.91m, the right-footed centre-back has built his career across several European leagues. After emerging at West African Football Academy in Ghana, he moved to Austria with LASK before loan and permanent spells at SV Ried, then joined Portuguese side CD Santa Clara in 2021. A brief period without a club in 2023 preceded his return to Austria with SC Austria Lustenau, followed by his switch to Dinamo.
Boateng has featured as a specialist centre-back throughout his career, and his experience in Austria’s top flight, Portugal’s Primeira Liga and Romania’s SuperLiga may appeal to SD Taishan as they look to bolster their defensive options in the Chinese Super League. Should the move materialise, it would mark his first venture into Asian football and could represent a significant new chapter in his career, shaping both his reputation on a new continent and his long-term prospects at international level.
