Michael Agbekpornu has completed a move from Croatian side Slaven Belupo Koprivnica to Spanish club SD Huesca, joining the LaLiga2 outfit on a contract running from 2026-02-02 to 2025-06-30. The Ghanaian central midfielder switches leagues after his spell in the SuperSport HNL, with his latest market valuation listed at €400k and the transfer fee officially undisclosed.
The 27-year-old leaves Slaven Belupo for Huesca in a standard transfer, stepping into Spanish football for the first time in his career. Registered as a central midfielder and predominantly right-footed, Agbekpornu is expected to add physical presence and defensive stability to Huesca’s engine room as the Aragonese club continues to compete in LaLiga2.
Before sealing this move, Agbekpornu built his career across three countries. He first came through at Dreams FC in Ghana, moving there in the 2018-19 season from an undisclosed club. In 2021 he made the jump to Europe with KF Egnatia in Albania, featuring in the country’s top flight and steadily increasing his reputation. A further step followed in 2023 when he joined Slaven Belupo Koprivnica in Croatia’s SuperSport HNL, where his market value rose as high as €500k before settling back at €400k ahead of his transfer to Spain.
His market value trajectory reflects a consistent upward trend from his early days at Dreams FC, where he was initially valued at €50k, then €25k, and back to €50k, before growing through several increments at KF Egnatia from €100k up to €250k. A further jump came after his move to Slaven Belupo, where he climbed to €400k and briefly reached €500k, underlining his development and importance in midfield roles at each club.
Born in Accra and holding Ghanaian nationality, Agbekpornu’s move to Huesca ensures he will continue playing abroad rather than in his home country’s domestic league. His club history now spans Ghana, Albania, Croatia, and Spain, giving him experience in multiple football cultures and tactical environments. That background makes him a relatively seasoned figure for a LaLiga2 midfield, with exposure to both more physical and more technical competitions.
Agbekpornu’s contract at SD Huesca is scheduled to run until 2025-06-30, after which he could become a free agent if no extension is agreed. By then, his performances in LaLiga2 will likely determine whether he secures a longer stay in Spain, attracts interest from other European clubs, or considers a move elsewhere. For now, the confirmed transfer represents a significant chapter in his career, positioning the Ghanaian midfielder on a competitive Spanish stage with the opportunity to enhance his profile and shape the next phase of his professional journey.
