Adam Masina has left Torino and is now without a club after his contract with the Granata expired and was not renewed. The 32-year-old centre-back, who holds both Moroccan and Italian nationality, has officially joined the pool of free agents following his departure from the Serie A side. The transfer was completed on 2026-02-02, with no transfer fee involved as Masina moved out of contract at Torino. His deal with the club ended on 2026-06-30.
The move confirms that Masina is currently unattached and free to negotiate with any interested side, in Italy or abroad. Listed with a market value of €1.40m at the time of his exit, he represents an experienced, low-risk option for clubs seeking a left-footed central defender with extensive top-flight experience in both Serie A and the English game.
Masina’s free-agent status comes after a spell at Torino that formally began on 2024-07-01, following a loan arrangement from Udinese earlier that year and a subsequent permanent switch. His loan from Udinese to Torino started on 2024-02-01 and ended on 2024-06-30, after which he remained with the Turin club until his contract expired in mid-2026. During that period, he continued to be registered as a defender primarily operating at centre-back, bringing height at 1.91 m and a left-footed profile to Torino’s back line.
Before arriving in Turin, Masina spent several seasons with Udinese, having joined the Friulani from Watford in 2022. That move marked his return to Serie A after four years in England, where he played for Watford following his transfer from Bologna in 2018. His rise had begun in the Bologna system, progressing from Bologna Youth to AC Giacomense on loan, then back to Bologna Primavera, and finally into the Bologna first team in 2014.
Across this pathway, Masina has consistently featured in top divisions: Serie A with Bologna, Udinese and Torino, and the English system with Watford. His dual Moroccan-Italian nationality has allowed him to straddle two footballing cultures, and his development in Italy has been reflected in a long-standing presence at professional level, with his market value peaking well above its current €1.40m earlier in his career.
With no club now listed and no league currently attached to his name, Masina’s next step will determine whether he stays within the familiar terrain of Italian football or moves abroad again. As a free agent, he can sign outside traditional transfer windows, which could attract clubs seeking mid-season reinforcement at centre-back without a transfer fee.
At 32, with experience in Serie A and England and a profile built across Bologna, Watford, Udinese and Torino, Masina’s availability offers potential suitors an immediately deployable defender. His next contract, wherever it is signed, will go a long way toward shaping the final phase of his career, defining whether he extends his presence in top-level European football or takes on a new challenge in a different environment.
