Fenerbahce announce signing of Ghana defender Kojo Oppong Peprah from Nice

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have confirmed the signing of Ghana defender Kojo Oppong Peprah from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.

The Super Lig club announced on Friday that an agreement had been reached with the 22-year-old centre-back, bringing him closer to completing a move that has been widely reported to be worth more than €10 million.

Fenerbahce also confirmed that Oppong Peprah’s official signing ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 29, at the 1907 Tribune of the Chobani Stadium Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Sports Complex.

The ceremony, which will be attended by football director Oğuz Çetin, will be open to members of the press from 11:00 local time.

Oppong Peprah’s move represents another major step in his rapid rise after just one season in France.

The Ghanaian joined Nice from Swedish club IF Norrkoping last summer and quickly established himself in the first team, making 39 appearances across all competitions and scoring once.

His performances attracted interest from several clubs, including fellow French side RC Strasbourg, before Fenerbahce won the race for his signature.

The defender has also emerged as an important figure for Ghana, earning a place in the Black Stars’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He featured against England and Croatia during Ghana’s campaign in Mexico, Canada and the United States.

The move to Fenerbahce will now give Oppong Peprah an opportunity to continue his development at one of Turkey’s most prominent clubs while competing at the highest level of European football.
