CAF has rejected a formal complaint submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation following the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final, confirming its disciplinary decisions against both finalists.
The Confederation of African Football announced that its Disciplinary Panel had examined the complaint lodged by the Moroccan federation, which alleged violations by the Senegalese Football Federation during the final.
After review, the panel ruled that the complaint did not meet the required threshold under CAF regulations.
The complaint related to alleged breaches of Articles 82 and 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations Regulations. CAF confirmed that the submission was rejected in its entirety, bringing an end to the case.
The rejection comes as part of a wider set of disciplinary rulings issued by CAF following incidents during the final, which resulted in sanctions against both Senegal and Morocco.
CAF stated that all decisions were taken in accordance with its Disciplinary Code and competition regulations.
The panel’s ruling means that no additional sanctions will be imposed on Senegal beyond those already announced. CAF reiterated that its disciplinary process is independent and based on official match reports, video evidence and written submissions from all parties involved.
CAF has previously stressed the importance of maintaining respect for match officials and competition integrity, particularly during high-profile fixtures such as continental finals.
The governing body said the decisions were intended to serve as a deterrent and to reinforce standards of conduct across African football.
With the rejection of the complaint, CAF has formally closed all disciplinary procedures linked to the final of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
The ruling clears the way for attention to return to future competitions, with affected players and officials now aware of the sanctions they will carry into upcoming CAF tournaments.
